Rae reads... Liberty and Means by Kristin Dow

I liked how the story was quick to start with a strange vehicle following Shannon and giving the reader a quick introduction to her daily life. I guess this would be my only negative as I expected the story to have almost a thriller aspect to it. When in fact it follows a completely different path. However once I read a few more chapters I found I wasn't disappointed in the way the story progressed.

You also get little snippets regarding her past which kept me hooked and wanting to read more. These past events are easily woven into the story and don't interfere with the story but add to it.

Its interesting how Shannon reacts when she realises how much money she has won. I think until you are in that situation you won't know how you would deal with things.

I think the relationship between Shannon and Chris was a real and honest relationship. I was really hoping they would get their happy ever after. Although the really interesting part of this book was Shannon's relationship with her brother it kept me gripped.

I loved how the book ended with a bit of uncertainity but also hopeful. I think we can all relate to how one event can change our lives whether it be for the better or the worse. People have to make the best of things.

This book had some sad parts but I guess that is an honest description of someone's life, you can't always be happy that just isn't real. I like how even money can't alter that fact.

Four stars from me!
