The Chateau of Happily Ever Afters by Jaimie Admans #BlogTour #Review @be_the_spark @NeverlandBT

I am delighted to be one of the stops on the blog tour for The Chateau of Happily Ever Afters by Jaimie Admans. Today I will be sharing my review for this wonderful story and don't forget to enter the fab giveaway too!

First of all let's take a look at the description for the book...

About the book

Where dreams come true…?

Wendy Clayton stopped believing in fairy tales a long time ago. Instead, she has a ‘nice’ life. Nice job. Nice flat. Absolutely no men. Until her life is turned upside-down when her elderly neighbour, Eulalie, passes away and leaves her the Château of Happily Ever Afters!

But there’s a catch: she must share the sprawling French castle with Eulalie’s long-lost nephew, Julian. And no matter how gorgeous he is, or how easily she finds herself falling head over heels, Wendy needs to find a way to get rid of him…

Because surely happily ever afters don’t happen in real life?

Escape to beautiful France this summer with this uplifting romantic comedy. Perfect for fans of Kat French, Caroline Roberts, and Holly Martin.

My Review

On the gorgeous cover to this book is the tagline "Where dreams come true" and reading this book was definitely like a lovely dream come true. I have to say that the story well and truly captured both my attention and imagination. The descriptions of the chateau and also the village felt vivid and were a pleasure to read. Along with the delightful baked goods that are delivered to the chateau had me craving bread with lashings of butter and yummy croissants too. I swear I put on a couple of pounds just reading this book! There is a certain magical air to the story that seemed to remind me of being little where I believed in fairy tales and true happily ever afters.

I loved the sparring that begins when Wendy and Julian find themselves at the chateau it is written in such a witty and fun way that I was smiling constantly at their antics. The characters were developed brilliantly throughout the story and I really felt as if I got to know them. Wendy is a great character both strong and determined especially in her mission to get rid of Julian. There are plenty of comical moments and I did have to giggle to myself at how everything played out when she first arrived at the chateau, her first night there is pretty memorable! I have to admit to maybe falling a little bit for Julian myself and I really loved the idea that first impressions aren't always true and Julian definitely comes under this.

If you are looking for a special story that is likely to stay with you, then look no further. A lovely escape from everyday life where I felt so relaxed and enjoyed pretty much every minute. I really cannot find fault with this story it has a special magical charm that is so hard to create.

A full five stars from me!

With thanks to Jenny at Neverland Blog Tours, Jaimie Admans & HQ Digital for my copy. This is my honest and unbiased opinion.

About the author

Jaimie is a 32-year-old English-sounding Welsh girl with an awkward-to-spell name. She lives in South Wales and enjoys writing, gardening, watching horror movies, and drinking tea, although she’s seriously considering marrying her coffee machine. She loves autumn and winter, and singing songs from musicals despite the fact she’s got the voice of a dying hyena. She hates spiders, hot weather, and cheese & onion crisps. She spends far too much time on Twitter and owns too many pairs of boots.
She will never have time to read all the books she wants to read.

She is the author of chick-lit romantic comedies The Chateau of Happily Ever Afters and Kismetology, and she has also written young-adult romantic comedies Afterlife Academy, Not Pretty Enough, and North Pole Reform School.
