The Flowerpot Witch by Wendy Steele @WendyWooauthor #BlogTour @rararesources Q&A

I'm delighted to be one of the stops on the blog tour for The Flowerpot Witch by Wendy Steele. Today you can catch a Q&A with Wendy along with a great giveaway to win a paperback copy of the book. First of all though let's take a look at the description for the book...

Lizzie Martin has chosen pottery to be her new career…

But the teacher from hell threatens to thwart her ambitions before she starts.

She has support from her best friend Louise and Evan, another pottery tutor, but Rowan, her fifteen year old daughter is restless, Josh, her ex-husband is colluding with her aunt and though her mother is alive, access to her is forbidden. When The Morrigan appears in her sacred circle, Lizzie knows she has a battle on her hands.

There is hope though.

Stardust the chicken brings a new creature into Lizzie’s life and a long awaited meeting with her Aunt Matilda brings Lizzie’s past into perspective.

Lizzie’s magic ventures beyond The Sanctuary, into the Welsh landscape and the realms of the fae.

Q&A – Wendy Steele

Thank you so much for taking part in the Q&A, right let's get started…

1 – What three words best describe your personality?
Hard working, reliable, kind

2 – What was the last book you read?
Sweet Pea’s Thief by J Cassidy

3 – If you were stranded on a desert island what three books would you want with you?
It’s so hard to choose three! I’ve gone for three books I reread on a regular basis: Wyrd Sisters by Sir Terry Pratchett, Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Sir Terry Pratchett and The Sea Priestess by Dion Fortune.

4 - Do you have any strange writing habits?
I used to have writing trousers but now I’m happy in anything comfortable with a small hot water bottle behind me…the joys of living in a stone house! Most of my first draft writing is with a fountain pen on paper, which isn’t strange but probably unusual.

5 – Do you share any personality traits with the characters you have created?
The characters I create are often blends of people I know or have met, so most of my female characters will have a little of me in them. Lizzie Martin is the protagonist of The Flowerpot Witch and I hope I had her patience bringing up my teenagers!

6 - Can you choose three words to describe your new book The Flowerpot Witch?
Compelling, thought-provoking, unique

7 – Are you working on anything now?
My fourth Witchlit book is at the planning stage and while I was in Ibiza with my daughter, an idea about the first novel I ever wrote (Hubble Bubble, 120k words sitting under my bed!) kept me awake for a whole night, so I’ll be giving that serious consideration.

Quick fire questions -
Which do you prefer?

Paperback or eBook?
Books on my Kindle are useful but I’m old fashioned, so I’d choose a paperback every time.

Classic novel or Contemporary?
I choose a book depending on my mood and when I’m reading it. I read most before bed, so Far from the Madding Crowd would work for me for bedtime but not necessarily Great Expectations. Similarly, I’d enjoy Women who run with Wolves as bedtime reading but not Room by Emma Donaghue.

Cinema or Theatre?
Live performance every time, though I don’t get to the theatre as much as I’d like to. My daughter is a member of Billericay Operatic Society and they treated us to The Producers in March this year which was excellent.

Crisps or Chocolate?
I’m loving lentil crisps at the mo!

Tea or Coffee?
Rooibos tea for me!

Night out or Day out?
Day out with the sun shining! I’m lucky enough to live a short drive away from both sea and mountains.

Thank you again for taking the time to answer the Q&A x
