I became completely caught up in the story in no time at all and the way A. L. Michael writes Savvy I couldn't help rooting for her. A. L. Michael has a gorgeous writing style which is witty and felt quite real to me. Cocktails and Dreams is both heartwarming and emotional which was a lovely combination to see. There are some deeper issues relating to family that has had an effect on Savvy's life and I couldn't help but feel anger towards some of the people who had treated her so badly. Milo is also a great character who is almost in the same boat as Savvy and trying to make his dreams come true too. He had a slightly cheeky and outgoing nature that I loved and it was great to see Savvy's interactions with him. Especially as she started to in a way wake up from her old life and pursue a new one following her dreams.

There is romance, friendships and family at this books core and it was wonderful getting to know the characters. I adored Savvy's journey and I found myself smiling and willing her to succeed. This story also has some pretty fabulous descriptions of cocktails and food that had me eager to try them out for myself. It was also perfect of A. L. Michael to highlight how certain songs for Savvy held both good and bad memories, this is so true. This book manages to put into words how we should always try to follow our dreams and if Savvy can do it why can't we!

Cocktails and Dreams is a brilliant start to this fab new series and I can't wait to see what is next!

Fun but with an emotional edge that I loved!
