Open Your Eyes by Paula Daly @PaulaDalyAuthor #BlogTour @annecater @TransworldBooks #Review

Thank you for stopping by I'm thrilled to be taking part in the blog tour for Open Your Eyes by Paula Daly and sharing my review today. First of all though let's take a look at the description for the book...

Haven’t we all wanted to pretend everything is fine?

Jane doesn’t like confrontation. Given the choice, she’d prefer to focus on what’s going well,
the good things in life.

But when her husband, Leon, is brutally attacked in the driveway of their home, in front of their
two young children, Jane has to face reality. As he lies in a coma, Jane must open her eyes to
the problems in her life, and the secrets that have been kept from her, if she’s to find out who
hurt her husband – and why.

Maybe it’s time to face up to it all. Who knows what you might find . . .

Well I have to admit to pretty much reading this in one sitting, I never expected such an addictive story. Paula Daly had a way of pulling me right in from pretty much the first page as we are introduced to Leon and Jane. It just feels as if you are a fly on the wall as a family starts their day. Seeing how then in an instant life can change so much and I ended up completely immersed in their lives.

I think Jane is so very easy to relate with don't we all want an easy life without confrontation unless we have to of course. Trying to raise a family and in Jane's case to finally get a positive response to her books. It was so interesting to see Jane's character start to look into what happened to her husband but also to look after her two young children after such a terrible event.

The questions built up creating a wonderful tension that felt as if it might snap at any moment! At times I was reading as fast as I could to see if anything would be revealed. I'm trying to be as vague as possible as I would hate to spoil anything. However what I will say is that Open Your Eyes is a brilliant rollercoaster of mystery, thrills and has characters that felt so real to me.

This is the first book that I have read by Paula Daly and it seems as if I have definitely been missing out. So that's more books to be added to my ever increasing TBR pile!

What can I say other than this book is both addictive and compelling!

Five stars from me!

With thanks to Anne Cater and Transworld Books for my copy.
