How to Keep a Secret by Sarah Morgan @SarahMorgan_ #BlogTour @HQstories #Review

I'm thrilled to be taking part in the blog tour for How to Keep a Secret by Sarah Morgan and sharing my review today. First of all though let's take a look at the description for the book...

This summer one family will discover that together, they can do anything.

Three generations of Stewart women, all with secrets to keep…
Matriarch Nancy knows she hasn't been the best mother but how can she ever tell her daughters the reason why? Lauren and Jenna are as close as two sisters can be and they made a pact years ago to keep a devastating secret from their mother – but is it time to come clean? Lauren's teenage daughter Mackenzie masks her own pain by keeping her mother at a distance. Her mother, aunt and grandmother keep trying to reach her but will it take a stranger to show her the true meaning of family?
When life changes in an instant, the Stewart women are thrown together for a summer and suddenly they must relearn how to be a family. And whilst unravelling their secrets might be their biggest challenge, it could also be their finest moment . . .

Whenever I pick up a book by Sarah Morgan I can expect a story that will instantly pull me in along with getting to know some wonderful characters. How to Keep a Secret is a slight change in direction but what a charming and beautiful story it is. This book is told from four perspectives which I thought worked out so well especially as the characters were written with distinct and individual personalities. You have Nancy who is mother to Lauren and Jenna along with Lauren's daughter Mack. Now it's safe to say that they have a complicated relationship. Mainly due to the fact that there are some secrets that have simmered below the surface for quite some time. Although even the longest buried secrets have a way of being revealed and the reader gets to see the effects that this has on the Stewart family. The characters were developed brilliantly, sometimes when writing multiple characters along with different ages their personalities can be lost. However Sarah Morgan has created some balanced and well though out characters who truly shine.

I was well and truly wrapped up in this story and loved how the little details were revealed creating a slight tension within the story. I couldn't wait to discover all the secrets that this family have struggled to hold onto. There is romance in this book but it isn't the sole focus however it was written in such a stunning and wonderful way it enhances the overall story into something truly captivating!

How to Keep a Secret is about love, family and relationships all beautifully and expertly written by Sarah Morgan. There is a real warmth to the story showing both the ups and downs of life.

Five stars from me!

With thanks to Isabel at HQ for my copy.
