#Review - Any Way You Slice It by Monique McDonell @MoniqueMcDonell

About the book

Piper Adams has one month to find a husband, and get a green card, or be kicked out of the country just when her chain of Aussie Pie trucks is about to start making some serious money.

Aaron is an ambitious lawyer keen to make partner but his Boston law firm only promotes lawyers who are married.

A marriage of convenience could solve both their problems if they keep it strictly business but convincing everyone else that this is true love while trying to convince themselves that it isn’t is a sure recipe for trouble. All the kissing and touching to prove that this is a true love sets the heat rising faster than the pies in Piper’s kitchen.

While Aaron is happy to be friends with benefits, Piper knows better than to mix business with pleasure, despite the undeniable chemistry. Getting married to save her business is one thing, but falling in love would mean risking her heart. Any way you slice it she’s getting more than she bargained for.

A little bit like a cross between Grease and The Proposal, Any Way You Slice It is sure to captivate readers who love romantic comedy and chicklit.

This is the first book in The Upper Crust Series

My Review

Just a bit of background information but I actually won a giveaway where I could pick any book by Monique McDonell. I decided on a book called Any Way You Plan It mainly due to the fact that the main character shares my daughters name. I did realise that it was not the first book in The Upper Crust Series. However I'm pretty sure they can be read as standalone books. So watch this space for my review of Any Way You Plan It coming soon. Thank you again to Monique McDonell for running the giveaway.

Anyway sorry to waffle on but when I saw the first book in the series on Amazon I thought great I'll download it and start at the beginning.

So this is my review of the first book in The Upper Crust Series...

Even though this book is a novella I found that I connected with the characters pretty easily. With me getting to know them quite well in the short space of time. It was nice to see a strong independent character like Piper who was trying to run a successful business. There was lovely chemistry between Piper and Aaron especially as they got to know each other better. Will they be destined to stay friends or will their marriage of convenience become real?

The story moved along at a good pace and I easily finished it in one evening. I almost wished the story could have been slightly longer, it could easily have been a full length story. Although I do hope that we get to catch up with Aaron and Piper later on in the series.

Light hearted and very sweet at times I am now looking forward to reading more in this series. If you are looking for a short story to read in an evening Any Way You Slice It would be perfect.

Sweet with a lovely romance!
