The perfect summer escape…?
Professional dog-walker Felicity Knight loves everything about New York…until her ex-husband starts working at her local vet clinic. She hasn’t seen Seth Carlyle in ten years, but one glimpse of him – too gorgeous, and still too good for her – and Fliss’s heart hurts like their whirlwind marriage ended yesterday. So when her grandmother in The Hamptons needs help for the summer, it seems the perfect way to escape her past…
Their relationship might only have lasted a few scorching months, but vet Seth knows Fliss – if she’s run away to The Hamptons, it’s because she still feels their connection and it terrifies her. He let her go once before, when he didn’t know any better, but not this summer! With the help of his adorable dog Lulu, and a sprinkling of beachside magic, Seth is determined to make Fliss see that he’s never stopped loving her…

My Review
I always enjoy a second chance romance it definitely has a certain charm for me. I don't like to have regrets but maybe in some situations the past is worth revisiting. Sarah Morgan always writes extremely engaging characters that are such a delight to get to know. Fliss and Seth are a fantastic example of this. You can feel the connection between Seth and Fliss it was pretty mesmerising really. Both hurt for different reasons I just wanted to give them both a hug and try and get them to sort things out.
Fliss is outwardly strong but has this certain vulnerability about her that was so sad. There were a few times where I wanted to knock some sense into the pair of them. However I could totally understand the fear especially from Fliss. Seth is as close to perfect that you will find with a special charm and determination that made him so endearing.
You can feel the emotion and chemistry flying out from the pages whenever Fliss and Seth are together. You are left wondering what went wrong between two people who are clearly made for each other. Then all that's left to ask is will they ever get their happy ending?
As ever it is lovely to have the wonderful cameos from characters who have been in Sarah Morgan's previous books. However don't worry this book can be read completely as a standalone. A special mention has to go to Hero and Lulu they were a lovely addition to the story along with Fliss's twin Harriet.
I couldn't put this book down it was everything I could have hoped for when I first picked it up. With a story that whisked me away from reality and gave me romance, friendship and new beginnings. Before I knew it I was nearing the end and even though I didn't want to put it down I also didn't want it to end. It is always a delight to pick up a book by Sarah Morgan and Holiday in the Hamptons is the perfect summer read!
Please tell me that I won't be waiting long for the next book and that it will be Harriet's story.
A charming story that had me captivated!
With thanks to Lucy Richardson & HQ for my copy. This is my honest and unbiased opinion.
