I'm so happy to be taking part in the blog tour for The Holiday Cruise by Victoria Cooke. Today I'm sharing my review but first of all let's take a look at the description for the book...
As if it weren't enough to be cheated on by her husband of ten years, Yorkshire lass Hannah Davis is losing her beauty salon business too. Luckily, her big sister is there to pick up the pieces, but Hannah is determined to find some independence.
Impulsively, Hannah applies for a spa job...on a cruise ship! Christmas in the Caribbean, springtime in the Mediterranean, what's not to like? But, despite being in her thirties, Hannah has never done anything in her own before, and she's terrified.
As the ship sets sail, Hannah has never been further from home...or closer to discovering who she is and who she wants to be.

I love travel so the premise for this book instantly appealed to me especially as I have never been on a cruise. So I was eager to start reading and see which destinations this story would take me to along with getting to know Hannah. It's safe to say that Hannah is having a really bad time at the beginning of this story having experienced the break up of her marriage. Hannah has to literally start again and I was really rooting for her.
I loved the mention of 90's/00's music it definitely made me reminisce about when I was younger! There are some brilliantly timed laugh out loud moments especially a certain visit to Magaluf and Hannah letting her hair down for a change. There are so many light hearted moments but I also really enjoyed Hannah's journey of discovering who she is. After being in a relationship for so long she isn't quite sure of her place in life and which direction it should take next.
Hannah and her sister had a lovely relationship and I loved the emails and phone calls between them whilst Hannah was on board. Along with the lovely friendships that Hannah makes with her fellow crew. This all came together to make a fabulous read! The story moves quickly and kept my interest throughout with plenty of fun antics and that little bit of added romance that made this story stand out even more. I really don't want to go into too much detail because it really is a fantastic story that is worth reading for yourself. Now that the days are getting both colder and darker The Holiday Cruise really helped to brighten up my day.
Heart warming and lots of fun!
With thanks to Anna at HQ Digital for my copy and invite to join the tour. This is my honest and unbiased opinion.
Victoria Cooke grew up in the city of Manchester before crossing the Pennines in pursuit of a career in education. She now lives in Huddersfield with her husband and two young daughters and when she’s not at home writing by the fire with a cup of coffee in hand, she loves working out in the gym and travelling. Victoria was first published at the tender age of eight by her classroom teacher who saw potential in a six-page story about an invisible man. Since then she’s always had a passion for reading and writing, undertaking several writers’ courses before completing her first novel, ‘The Secret to Falling in Love,’ in 2016
