My Review
I couldn't wait to start this book I had heard good things about it from quite a few people so I was hoping to be impressed.
So what did I think...
All of the characters in this book brought something special to the story. Most of the characters were pretty likeable even if they had their flaws.
Jerry was brilliant with his bold and brash personality but I loved that he wanted to help Tom make the Halloween show a success.
Tom was great but I think he acted without thinking sometimes which ended up causing problems with Laura. I loved the enthusiasm that he got when putting the show together though.
Laura could be annoying at times but to be honest on some occasions I could see things from her point of view. I have to admit there were certain points in the story where I wanted to shake her but this was definitely down to her insecurities.
Hannah was one of the quieter characters so the more you read the more you get to see her personality come through.
Will was intriguing especially when you find out he has feelings for someone but that it is a secret. I couldn't wait to find out who it was!
Carly was so much fun although maybe not so much if she was spending time with your husband!
Amy had some great put downs and I couldn't wait to find out what she would say next.
Even though there are a number of characters in this book I never felt confused or felt like the plot suffered. It was actually refreshing to see things from multiple points of view. It kept things interesting and I felt like I got a better feel for the story and the characters. I do wish I could have got to know Amy a bit better as I loved her fiery temperament but this is only a minor thing.
I loved the fun plot especially as it involved dancing it made everything that little bit more over the top and entertaining. There are plenty of comical moments especially coming from Jerry he had some brilliant lines. A giant inflatable crocodile has to get a special mention too, definitely sums up Jerry's personality!
Overall:
All of the characters were so much fun to get to know and were well written. I almost missed my bus stop on the way to work one morning I was that engrossed at one point!
I pretty much read this book within two days, I would have finished it sooner but life with young children and work means I can't read all day. Even if I sometimes wish I could!
If you are a fan of anything to do with dancing this book is perfect for you!
Strictly My Husband is a fun filled journey into dancing, friendship and relationships.
Five stars from me!
