A Country Escape by Katie Fforde @KatieFforde @Francesca_PR #Review

ARC received from publisher.

Fran has always wanted to be a farmer. And now it looks as if her childhood dream is about to come true.

She has just moved in to a beautiful but very run-down farm in the Cotswolds, currently owned by an old aunt who has told Fran that if she manages to turn the place around in a year, the farm will be hers.

But Fran knows nothing about farming. She might even be afraid of cows.

She's going to need a lot of help from her best friend Issi, and also from her wealthy and very eligible neighbour - who might just have his own reasons for being so supportive.

Is it the farm he is interested in? Or Fran herself?

I loved the premise for A Country Escape and I was willing Fran to succeed right from the very start. Katie Fforde always sets the scene brilliantly and I loved how descriptive this story is especially in detailing some of the dairy farming side. I could almost see myself right there on the farm as Fran tries to make it a success. Even when things were going wrong her determination was so lovely to see especially as she has to figure out new ideas to make a living.

There is a wonderful range of characters from the likeable right down to the ones you really want to hate. Fran is passionate about saving the farm and I loved her interactions with Antony but are his intentions honourable?

I easily found myself caught up in this story and it was perfect for a lazy afternoon of reading. There is a little bit of everything in this book from dairy farming, to cute animals and of course at it's heart a lovely uplifting romance.

Cosy and heartwarming!

Four stars from me!

With thanks to Francesca Russell for my copy. This is my honest and unbiased opinion.
