There is nothing better than sitting down with my little ones and reading with them. Especially now my little boy is learning to read I love that he has such an interest in books. With me having a three year old and a five year old it can sometimes be tricky to find something that will interest them both. So when I saw this book I thought it could be possibly more suited to my oldest. However we all sat together and they both really enjoyed listening to me read the poems.
Each poem was a lovely length not too long or too short just enough to keep both their attention. After we read all of the poems I asked my children if they had a favourite poem and my little boy picked My New Pair of Trainers and I think this was in part down to him having a new pair of shoes recently so he could definitely relate. My little girl picked The Dog Ate My Homework and I think this was definitely down to her love of dogs. She told me he was very naughty for ripping up a book! The illustrations were eye catching and perfect for showing the little details from each poem. This collection of poems was very easy to read and the verses flowed in such a lovely way especially as they rhyme.
Perfect for a child starting school or for a child who goes to school and who has experienced some of the events that the poems talk about. A lovely little collection of poems that is perfect for sharing with your children!
