I'm delighted to be taking part in the blog tour for The Green Viper by Rob Sinclair and sharing my review today! First of all though let's take a look at the description for the book...
I need your help. Call me.
Ex-intelligence agent James Ryker receives a coded message through a secret drop point, a means of communication known only to him and one other person. The problem is, that person is his ex-boss, Mackie... and he’s already dead.
But the cry for help is real, and it’s a request Ryker can’t refuse.
Travelling to New York alone and without official sanction, Ryker has a single goal in mind, yet even he couldn’t have bargained for the violent world he’s soon embroiled in. Caught in the middle of a spiraling chaos, with the FBI on one side and warring underworld bosses on the other, Ryker must put all of his skills to the test in order to come out on top and keep his word.
In a world full of lies and deceit, loyalty is everything, and it’s time for James Ryker to pay his dues.

Now that opening definitely had me sitting up and taking notice! What follows is a fast paced and action packed story that held my attention all the way through.
I have to admit that I'm very late to this series and have just jumped straight into reading this one. This just shows that The Green Viper can be read as a standalone! It is wise to point out that with any series it might be a good idea to start at the beginning just to get more knowledge of the characters back stories. However I think that Rob Sinclair easily wove some of James Ryker's past into this book making it so much easier to gel with his character. Some of the things that persuaded me to read this book was the fact that I had heard so many great things about this series not only from other bloggers but my own brother. I have to say that they are all spot on and I have been missing out!
Rob Sinclair easily sets the scene whether it be London or New York with his writing, making me feel as if I am experiencing everything with the characters. It is safe to say that Ryker really finds himself in the thick of it and I couldn't wait to see how it would all play out! He is such a brilliant character and I love how methodical he is in his work.
The story at times could be dark and gritty but this added to the overall tension and I especially thought that the setting added an edge to the plot.
I can't wait to see what is in store for James Ryker, please say there will be another book!
Tension, danger and action galore!
